Uses

2-Methyl-3-[(2S)-2-pyrrolidinylmethoxy]-pyridine Dihydrochloride is a selective neuronal nicotinic receptor (NNR) modulator and a neuroprotective agent that has therapeutic potential for treating cognitive disorders. 2-Methyl-3-[(2S)-2-pyrrolidinylmethoxy]-pyridine Dihydrochloride is selective for the neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) subtype, which modulate the release of neurotransmitters (acetylcholine and dopamine).

in vivo

Pozanicline (ABT-089; 0.3 mg/kg and 0.6 mg/kg) reverses nicotine withdrawal-induced deficits in contextual fear conditioning^[3].

Animal Model:	Adult male C57BL6/J mice at 8-12 weeks of age^[3].
Dosage:	0.3 mg/kg and 0.6 mg/kg
Administration:	Treated 5 min before training and testing for contextual fear conditioning
Result:	A dose of 0.3 mg/kg and 0.6 mg/kg ameliorated nicotine withdrawal-induced cognitive deficits in contextual fear conditioning.
