Uses
BMS 753 is as been reported to be a RARα-selective agonist. Used to develop a series of small molecule inhibitors which affect specific microscopic steps of Aβ42 aggregation in Alzheimer’s disease. This would aspire to reduce the attrition problem in drug discovery.
Biological Activity
BMS 753 is a subtype-selective retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARα) agonist with a Ki value of 2 nM for RARα.

BMS 753 results in low levels of RARβ transcripts in WT cells, RARγ -/- , but not activates in RARa -/- cells.
