Trimagnesium dicitrate Usage And Synthesis
Description
Trimagnesium dicitrate is a high-purity magnesium salt, it is primarily utilized as a Magnesium source in food products, dietary supplements, and pharmaceuticals.
Chemical Properties
White or slightly yellow granules powder
Uses
Trimagnesium Dicitrate is used in the preparation of Cyclopentadiene Magnesium Ferrite nanomaterial. As a versatile compound, it is primarily utilized as a magnesium source in food products, dietary supplements, and pharmaceuticals. Its anhydrous form offers distinct advantages, such as low moisture content, making it especially stable and suitable for sensitive formulations.
Definition
ChEBI: Trimagnesium dicitrate is a magnesium salt composed of magnesium and citrate ions in a 3:2 ratio. It has a role as a laxative. It contains a citrate(3-).
Biological Functions
Trimagnesium dicitrate(3344-18-1) is an organic magnesium salt formed by the combination of three magnesium ions with two citrate ions, with the chemical formula Mg(C₆H₅O₇)₂. The magnesium content is approximately 16%. It primarily absorbs water in the intestines through osmosis, simultaneously facilitating the uptake of magnesium ions into the body alongside water. This absorption process is relatively indirect. Trimagnesium dicitrate is commonly used to relieve constipation, empty the bowels (such as for preoperative preparation), and may help improve digestive function, prevent kidney stones, and regulate electrolyte balance.
Flammability and Explosibility
Non flammable
