REACTIVE BLACK 5 Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
Black powder. Solubility in water (20℃) is 100g/L. The aqueous solution is bluish black, add 1mol/L sodium hydroxide, the color is unchanged, then add the insurance powder and warm to yellowish brown, then add sodium perborate, the color can not be restored to the original color. It is blue-green in concentrated sulfuric acid and greenish gray after dilution; it is brown in concentrated nitric acid and light brown after dilution.
Uses
C.I.Reactive Black 5 can be used for Ink jet recording apparatus and ink jet method reducing clogging during textile printing
Uses
Reactive Black 5 (RB5) has been:
- used in an optimization study on the photocatalytic degradation of RB5 dye in synthetic greywater effluent (i.e. aqueous RB5 in distilled water), in order to understand the effects of different photoreactor parameters on the degradation kinetics.
- as a textile dye to investigate the anaerobic reduction in upflow stirred packed-bed reactors (USPBRs) with biological activated carbon (BAC) system
- used in the performance evaluation of dye removal forlarge molecule substance
Definition
ChEBI: A bis(azo) compound with two aryldiazenyl moieties placed at positions 2 and 7 of a multi-substituted naphthalene.
General Description
Reactive Black 5 belongs to the class of textile azo dyes. It can be biodegraded by the laccase enzyme in Ganoderma lucidum.
