Chemical Properties

Slightly soluble in water, aqueous solution with hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide are slightly lighter in color. Deep magenta color in concentrated sulfuric acid, color unchanged after dilution. Insoluble in concentrated nitric acid.

Uses

Acid Red 138 is an organic azo dye used in the textile industry for wool fabrics, silk and nylon fabrics.

Preparation

4-Dodecylbenzenamine diazo, and 4-Acetamido-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid?coupling.

Properties and Applications

blue-ray red. Mainly used in tussah silk and dyeing, wool fabric and polyamide fiber can be used. The salt can be used in organic pigments.
