Chemical Properties

Isopropyl lanolate is soluble in alcohols, oils and fats, insoluble in water miscible in castor oil, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, hot mineral oil, ethanol, insoluble in water; soluble in hot oil; miscible in oils and fats with HLB value of 9, acid value of up to 18, saponification value of 130 to 155, hydroxyl value of 35 to 55.

Uses

isopropyl lanolate is a skin softener and binder, it aids in the proper spreading of a product. It can also assist in extract penetration, and improve skin feel and texture. It is a lanolin derivative.
