METOXADIAZONE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
Pure product is light yellow to russet crystal or crystalline powder. m.p.79.5°C, vapor pressure 0.147Pa (25°C), relative density 1.401-1.410, ignition point 160°C, ignition temperature 390°C. It is soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, chloromethane, anisole; more soluble in methanol, xylene, trichloroethane; soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, toluene. Freely soluble in acetone, chloroform, ethyl acetate, chloromethane, anisole; more soluble in methanol, xylene, trichloroethane; soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, trimethylbenzene, alkylbenzene, etc.; almost insoluble in water, cyclohexane, kerosene. Stable at room temperature, unstable at higher than 50°C. By adding Sumillizer-TNP (2%), a stable agent can be obtained. Explosivity is the lower limit of dust explosion. 40 ℃ in the following solvents after 6 months residual rate is: acetone 97.7%, methanol 85.3%, isopropanol 95%, ethyl acetate 99.8%, cyclohexanone 100.5%, xylene 101.0%, chloroform 93.2%, trichloroethane 102.0%, it can be seen that the methanol in the more decomposable in its solvents and stable. The agent is stable in other carriers except unstable in bentonite and sodium carbonate (40℃, 6 residuals of 85.7% and 16. 0% respectively). The xenon lamp irradiation test proved that it will gradually decompose in the light, in addition, humidity also has an effect on the agent.

Metoxadiazone is used as an insecticide used to control rice hoppers, cockroaches and ants.
