Chemical Properties
White crystals, soluble in methanol and water, insoluble in acetone and ethyl acetate, derived from yellow yam, rhizome of Chinese yam, and Dioscorea zingiberensis.
Uses
Pseduoprotodioscin (CAS# 102115-79-7) is a steroidal saponin extracted from plants such as those of the genus Dioscorea spongiosa II, and exhibits cytotoxic effects against human colorectal carcinoma and gastric cancer cells.
