Nesvacumab Usage And Synthesis

Uses

Nesvacumab is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that specifically binds and inactivates the Tie2 receptor ligand Angiopoietin-2 (Ang2) with high affinity, but shows no binding to Ang1[1].

Biological Activity

Nesvacumab is an experimental monoclonal antibody originally designed for the treatment of cancer. It targets the protein angiopoietin 2. As of May 2017, it is in Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of diabetic macular edema.
