Application
Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline dihydrochloride exhibits glutamate receptor antagonism, high affinity for AMPA receptors (non-NMDA receptors), and strong inhibitory effects on the neurotoxicity of phycocyanin, thus inhibiting auditory convulsions. It also possesses high solubility and can serve as an inhibitor of phycocyanin neurotoxicity in its active ingredient. Furthermore, 1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline dihydrochloride compounds are important intermediates in organic synthesis, used to prepare various fine chemical products, such as dyes (WO1999051688A1) or poly(phenylquinoxaline) derivatives, the latter being a crucial structural unit in organic polymer light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
Synthesis
Take a 100 ml single-necked bottle, add 1-methyl-quinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester (3) 3.76 g (0.02 mol), and add methanol 50 ml, stirring to dissolve, and then add slowly into the sodium borohydride 3.02 g (0.08 mol). 90 ?? C. Reaction was carried out for 2 hours, and after completion of the reaction, excess methanol was evaporated under reduced pressure, and then after extraction and drying to obtain 1-methyl-1,2, 3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester 3.34 g. 87% yield. 3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester 3.34 g, yield 87%. Take a 100 ml single-necked bottle, add 1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester, and add methanol 50 ml, stirring to dissolve, and then add slowly into the hydrochloric acid fully hydrolyzed to obtain 1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline dihydrochloride.
