Chemical Properties

Dark red powder. Soluble in water. Aqueous solution is red, magenta color when hydrochloric acid is added; brown color when sodium hydroxide is added. Slightly soluble in ethanol, magenta color. Magenta color in concentrated sulfuric acid, peach color when diluted.

Uses

Acid Red 249 is a water-based inkjet printing ink compound.
