2,5-DIBROMOBENZOTRIFLUORIDE Usage And Synthesis
Uses
2,5-Dibromobenzotrifluoride (CAS# 7657-09-2) can be used to prepare for use as anti-cancer agents. It can also be used as a novel anhydride compound to prepare polyamic acid and polyimide.
Uses
2,5-Dibromobenzotrifluoride (1,4-Dibromo-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzene) may be used to synthesize 4-bromo-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde and functionalized alkynyl-substituted (trifluoromethyl)benzenes.
General Description
2,5-Dibromobenzotrifluoride is a halogenated hydrocarbon.
Synthesis
393-36-2
7657-09-2
The general procedure for synthesizing 2,5-dibromotrifluorobenzene from 5-amino-2-bromobenzotrifluoride was as follows: first, a diazonium salt solution was prepared according to the method described in Example 3. Subsequently, the cooled diazonium salt solution was rapidly poured into a pre-cooled and well-stirred mixture of CuBr (13 g, 0.091 mol) and concentrated hydrobromic acid (71 g, 0.44 mol). The reaction mixture was slowly warmed to room temperature and stirred continuously for 2 to 3 hours. Finally, the reaction system was heated to 60-70 °C and the target product 2,5-dibromotrifluorobenzene was obtained upon completion of the reaction. The yield was 63%.
