Description
JBSNF-000088 is a cell penetrant, potent and selective inhibitor of Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) that reduces 1-methyl-nicotinamide (MNA) and improved glucose control in mice models of metabolic disease. JBSNF-000088 potently inhibits growth of PFA ependymoma cells.
Uses

Uses
6-Methoxynicotinamide (50 mg/kg) reduces visceral white adipose tissue (WAT) MNA levels, body weight, fed blood glucose levels, and plasma and liver triglyceride levels, and improves oral glucose tolerance in a mouse model of diet-induced obesity (DIO).
Biological Activity
JBSNF-000088 (6-Methoxynicotinamide) is a nicotinamide (NA) analog, a potent inhibitor of Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), against human NNMT (hNNMT), monkey NNMT (mkNNMT) and mouse NNMT (mNNMT) ) with IC50 values of 1.8 μM, 2.8 μM and 5.0 μM.
