Description

Estradiol is a steroid sex hormone vital to the maintenance of fertility and secondary sexual characteristics in females. Estradiol regulates reproductive development in women and spermatogenesis in men, as well as lipid and glucose metabolism, maintenance of bone mass, energy balance, vascular metabolism, and induces the synthesis of a number of transport proteins. Estradiol level determination is used for diagnostics, evaluation and monitoring of therapy, biochemical and pharmacological studies.
