Radium Tellurite Usage And Synthesis
Description
Radium tellurite has the molecular formula of RaTeO3
and the molecular weight of 354.0969 g/mol. It has no
CAS number. It can be formed via the solid-state
reaction:
RaO+ TeO2+ heat ? RaTeO3
An inert atmosphere is required. This salt is a metatellurite.
It can also be formed by a solution method:
RaCl2
+ Na2TeO3 ? RaTeO3
+ 2NaCl
Additionally, this compound can be prepared by
reacting tellurium dichloride in a solution of strontium
chloride:
RaCl2
+ 2TeCl2
+ 3H2O ? Te+ RaTeO3
+ 6HCl
The question of a hydrate remains unknown. There is
absolutely no mention of this compound in the scientific
literature and its physical properties remain unknown.
There is no listed supplier for this compound and it is
doubtful that it has ever been prepared.
