Uses

2-(Difluoromethoxy)aniline is used as an organic intermediate.

Synthesis

Iron powder (5 eq.) was added to a solution of 2-(difluoromethoxy)nitrobenzene (1 eq.) in MeOH/MeCOOH (1:1). The reaction mixture was heated at 50 ??C under N2 The reaction mixture was heated at 50 ??C for 3 hours under N2 . The reaction mixture was concentrated under vacuum. To the residue, EtOAc (100 mL) and 1 m NaOH were added. (50mL) to the residue. Remove the precipitate by centrifugation. The aqueous layer was separated. Extract the aqueous layer with EtOAc (3 ?? 50 mL). Combine the organic layer and extract. Dry the combined organic layers and extract with MgSO 4. Extraction. Filter the combined organic layer and extract. Concentrate the combined organic layer and extract in vacuum.
