Uses

Bromophos-ethyl may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the insecticidel in fortified crop and water samples using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

General Description

Bromophos-ethyl is an organophosphorus insecticide used for controlling a wide variety of insects via inhibition of acetylcholinesterase activity.

Safety Profile

Poison by ingestion. Moderately toxic by skin contact and inhalation. An insecticide. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Br-, POx, SOx, and Cl-. See also CHLOROPHENOLS.
