Poly(D,L-lactide), Resomer R203s is a copolymer of 1,4-Dioxane-2,5-dione (D485883) and DL-Lactide (L113518). Because the copolymer is biocompatible and biodegradable it is used for controlled release of drugs and therapeutic agents.

Poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) is a synthetic amino acid that has been used to deliver macromolecular therapeutics.

General Description
Ester terminated Poly(D,L-lactide) (PDLLA, RESOMER? ) is a copolymer of L and D-lactic acid and (or L and D lactide). The structure is highly irregular and amorphous. RESOMER? polymers are bioresorbable aliphatic polyesters comprised of a range of different ratios of lactide and glycolide monomers, PLA stereochemistries, and end-group functionalization.
