Description

Sodium 3-(N-ethyl-3-methylanilino)-2-hydroxypropanesulfonate is a water-soluble reagent used in the enzymatic photometric determination of hydrogen peroxide. This compound is a widely studied small molecule inhibitor in scientific research. Originally synthesized in the early 1980s, it has since found extensive use in various investigations into cellular processes. It has its inhibition of the Na+/H+ exchanger (NHE), which is a membrane protein crucial for regulating intracellular pH. Additionally, EIPA has shown its potential as an inhibitor of TRPV channels, which play a role in pain sensation and thermoregulation.
