NISTOSE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
White crystal
Uses
Fungitetraose is a part of the sugar mixture of Neosugar, sweetner.
Definition
ChEBI: Nystose is an oligosaccharide.
Synthesis
25101-99-9
13133-07-8
The general procedure for the synthesis of the target compound from the compound (CAS: 25101-99-9) was as follows: 100 mg of Hex4perAc was dissolved in 5 mL of methanol (MeOH), followed by the addition of 18 mg (0.3 eq.) of sodium methanolate (CH3ONa). After stirring the reaction mixture for 2.5 h at room temperature, Dowex 50Wx2 [H+] resin was added to neutralize the reaction solution. The resin was removed by filtration and the solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in water (H2O) and desalted using a Bio-Gel P-2 gel (10 mL). Finally, a white solid product (57 mg) was obtained by freeze-drying.
in vivo
Nystose (100 mg/kg, po for 14 days) enhances the intestinal IgA secretion and modulates systemic immune responses in BALB/c mouse models[2].
Nystose (40-160 mg/kg, po for 8 weeks) improves the bone density and bone microstructure in mouse models[3].
