DENDROTOXIN I Usage And Synthesis
Uses
Dendrotoxin-I (DTX-I) is a potent K+ channels blocker with IC50s of 0.13-50 nM for voltage-gated potassium channel subunits KV1.1, KV1.2 and KV1.6, respectively. Dendrotoxin-I, a neurotoxin, has the potential for cancer research[1][2][3].
in vivo
Dendrotoxin-I (5 mg/kg; IV) displays a significant tumor growth inhibition effect combined with hyperthermia[3].
| Animal Model: | Nude mice with MCF-7 cells[3] |
| Dosage: | 5 mg/kg |
| Administration: | IV |
| Result: | Displayed a significanttumor growth inhibition effect combined with hyperthermia. Could not keep on inhibiting the growth of tumor at the later period of treatment. |
IC 50
Kv1.1: 0.13-50 nM (IC50); Kv1.2: 0.13-50 nM (IC50); Kv1.6: 0.13-50 nM (IC50)
