Lutetium(III) chloride, anhydrous is used as a sputtering target in the preparation of bubble memory device. It is widely used in electronic industry.
Safety Profile
Poison by intraperitoneal route. Mildly toxic by ingestion. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Cl-. See also RARE EARTHS.
