Uses

6-Amino-1-hexanol can undergo cyclization over copper supported on γ-alumina and magnesia to form hexahydro-1H-azepine. It may be used along with glutaric acid to generate poly(ester amide)s with excellent film- and fiber forming properties.

Synthesis

By volume ratio, 1 part of 6-aminohexanoic acid was added to the reactor containing 15 parts of diethyl ether or dry toluene solution At 40 ℃ constant temperature, At 1500rpm / min speed, rapidly injected 2 parts of a solution of sodium borohydride.
