Nigracin Usage And Synthesis
Uses
It is a natural product derived from plant source th at finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical and biochemical research.
Biological Activity
Poliothyrsoside is a pyruvic transaminase inhibitor known for its insulin-sensitizing effects in cell culture. Additionally, it exhibits anti-diabetic properties by inhibiting acetyl-CoA carboxylase, ultimately enhancing insulin sensitivity and lowering blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. This compound also serves as a lactate dehydrogenase inhibitor and demonstrates antidepressant-like actions, along with effectiveness against Alzheimerμs disease. In vitro studies have further revealed Poliothyrsosideμs capacity to inhibit virus production and exhibit antiviral activity against HIV-1.
