Uses

4-Bromo-2,6-dichloroaniline is a reagent in the preparation of 4-alkyl-1-phenylpyrazole and 4-alkyl-1-phenyltrioxabicyclooctane derivatives which are GABA receptor antagonist insecticides.

Synthesis

4-Bromo-2,6-dichloroaniline was obtained by free radical bromination reaction in carbon tetrachloride solution using 2,6-dichloroaniline as raw material, NBS as bromination reagent and BPO as initiator. 2,6-Dichloroaniline, 30 mL of carbon tetrachloride, N-bromosuccinimide and peroxybenzoyl were added to the reaction system, and the reaction was carried out at 60 ??C for 7 h. The reaction was monitored by TLC, and at the end of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the crude obtained was purified by column chromatography (V petroleum ether:V ethyl acetate=10:1) to obtain 1.20 g of a light yellow solid.
