Chemical Properties

Green, crystalline powder. Insoluble in water, alcohol, concentrated sulfuric acid; soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, giving violet solutions.

Uses

Textile industry as reducing agent for stripping or discharging colors.

Safety Profile

A corrosive to skin and eyes. When heated to decomposition it emits corrosive and toxic vapors of SOx and Ti.
