Synthesis

A mixture of 1.80 g (8.88 mmol) of isohexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride and 1.52 g (9.26 mmol) of methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate CF3SO2OCH 3 was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. NMR measurements showed the completeness of the reaction. The residue was dried under vacuum at 13.3 Pa and 120 ??C (oil bath temperature) for 30 min. 2.80 g of imidazolium 1-hexyl-3-methyltetrafluoromethanesulfonate was obtained in a quantitative amount.
