Uses
Soyasapogenol B has been shown to attenuate lipopolysaccharide-induced memory impairment in mice.
Definition
ChEBI: A pentacyclic triterpenoid that is oleanane containing a double bond between positions 12 and 13 and substituted by hydroxy groups at the 3beta, 22beta and 24-positions.
Biological Activity
Soyasapogenol B is a constituent of soya bean saponin th at belongs to the family of oleanane triterpenes. It is known to have biofunctions in cell signaling, membrane integrity and stability, and fuel and energy storage. Soyasapogenol B may demonstrate hypocholesterolemic effects.
in vivo
Soyasapogenol B (25 or 50 mg/kg/day, intraperitoneal injection) can inhibit tumor growth, and promote apoptosis and autophagy in a mouse tumor model of colorectal cancer[1].
Soyasapogenol B (10 mg/kg, oral) alleviates memory impairment induced by lipopolysaccharide (HY-D1056) in mice by regulating the expression of BDNF mediated by NF-κB[3].
