PHENAZINE-N-OXIDE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
Golden yellow needle crystal. Melting point 226.5 ℃, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, ether and manganese hydrocarbons, soluble in chloroform, benzene, xylene and nitrobenzene. Stable in alkaline medium, in the concentration of more than 15% of hydrochloric acid solution form Yang hydrochloride, but in dilute acid or water and hydrolyzed into 5-oxophenazine. Chemically stable.
Uses
Phenazine oxide (Phenazine N-oxide) is a novel and potent fungicide, bactericide, and wood preservative[1].
Safety Profile
Moderately toxic by intraperitoneal route. Experimental teratogenic and reproductive effects. Mutation data reported. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx.
