A metabolite of Vitamin D. The principal circulating form of vitamin D3, formed in the liver by hydroxylation at C-25. Calcium regulator.

Uses

D6-25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 has been used as an internal standard for the quantitation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D2/D3 in human serum by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.
