Synthesis

1-bromo-3-iodobenzene, 2.02 mL (15.8mmol), copper (Cu) 2.29 g (36.0 mmol) of calcium carbonate and 4.98 g (36.0 mmol) of DMF in 30 mL insert heated at 130 It was stirred. After the completion of the reaction, it cooled to ambient temperature, diluted with ethyl acetate to a vacuum filter, and passed through a silica gel. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. Separating the product by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate: n-hexane = 1: 20) to give 9-(3-bromophenyl)carbazole 3.80 g (98 per cent yield).
