ACID BLACK 24 Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
Blue-black powder. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is reddish blue to black, adding concentrated hydrochloric acid is greenish blue; adding concentrated sodium hydroxide solution is date red. Soluble in ethanol with navy blue color, soluble in ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in other organic solvents. In concentrated sulfuric acid is gray-blue to black, after dilution is dark green light blue; in concentrated nitric acid is red light brown and then changed to yellow. When stained with copper ions, the color is darker green, and when stained with iron ions, it is also darker.
Uses
Acid Black 24 (CAS# 3071-73-6) is a textile, water-soluble dye and organic pollutant.
Preparation
5-Aminonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid diazo, and Naphthalen-1-amine coupling, again diazo, and 8-(Phenylamino)naphthalen-1-ol ? coupling.

Properties and Applications

Used for the Wool Fabric dyeing, especially suitable for kemp products and Wool Blended Fabric dyeing, also can be used for polyamide, silk and leather dyeing. The Barium salt can be used as organic pigments.
