Uses

DTSACl may be used for modification of silica.{61} It was used to functionalize Fe3O4/silica?core-shell nanoparticles. {62} DTSACl may be used as a precursor to form silica, 3 and MeMFI zeolite.{63} It acts as a mesopore-generating agent. {64}

General Description

Dimethyloctadecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride (DTSACl) is an organosilane which can be used as a silica precursor. It forms an oil soluble solution that can act as an emulsion stabilizer.

Synthesis

1) Weigh ??-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane (2.782 kg, 14 moles) added to the 150-liter reaction kettle with condensation and reflux device, closed reaction kettle, open the kettle warming mechanism, in the 40-80 rpm stirring speed to make the reaction kettle warming to 40-50 ??, began to the reaction kettle drop-addition of octadecyldimethyl tertiary amine (2.976 kg, 10 moles), drop-addition time of 3 hours; warming to 140 ??, maintain a constant temperature, in the closed and mixed solvent reflux state reaction 36 hours to get the organosilicon quaternary ammonium salt product solution, with nuclear nucleus, and the reaction was completed in the following manner Mole), drop addition time is 3 hours; warming to 140 ??, maintain a constant temperature, in the closed and mixed solvent reflux state reaction 36 hours to get the silicone quaternary ammonium salt product solution, using nuclear magnetic resonance method to determine the conversion rate of silicone quaternary ammonium salt for 93%, to stop the reaction heating;
