General procedure for the synthesis of 3-(2-aminoethoxy)pyridine using 2-(pyridin-3-yloxy)acetonitrile (CAS: 266348-17-8) as starting material: 2-(pyridin-3-yloxy)acetonitrile (100 mg, 0.75 mmol), K2CO3 (103 mg, 0.75 mmol), DMSO was sequentially added in a 100 mL two-neck flask (0.1 mL) and H2O (2 mL). The reaction system was placed in an ice bath and 30% H2O2 (0.1 mL) was added slowly and dropwise. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 min, after which the solvent was removed by evaporation. The crude product was purified by column chromatography using ethyl acetate as eluent to give the final white solid product 3-(2-aminoethoxy)pyridine (62.2 mg, 55% yield).
