ChEBI: Brilliant cresyl blue is an organic tetrachlorozincate salt having 3-amino-7-(diethylamino)-2-methylphenoxazin-5-ium as the counterion. Used for the staining of reticulocytes and platelets. It has a role as a histological dye and a fluorochrome. It contains a brilliant cresyl blue(1+).

Biological Activity

Brilliant cresyl blue ALD is responsible for the staining of RNA in reticulocytes.
