REACTIVE BLUE 5 Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
Dark blue-black powder. The solubility in water (50℃) is 30g/L. The aqueous solution is reddish bright blue, add 1mol/L sodium hydroxide is still bright blue, then add the insurance powder and warm to orange-brown, then add sodium perborate is still orange-brown. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it is dark blue-purple, after dilution, it turns blue; in concentrated nitric acid, it is yellow-brown, after dilution, it turns light brown.
Uses
Reactive blue 5 is common textile dyes that can be adsorbed onto single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) through electrostatic interactions, allowing the separation of residual dyes.
Definition
ChEBI: Reactive Blue 5 is anthraquinone carrying amino, sulfo and [3-({4-chloro-6-[(3-sulfophenyl)amino]-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl}amino)-4-sulfophenyl]amino substituents at positions 1, 2 and 4 respectively. It has a role as a dye. It is a conjugate acid of a Reactive Blue 5(3-).
