Chemical Properties

Pure product is colorless or slightly yellow oily liquid, industrial product is light yellow translucent time oily liquid, with garlic odor, volatile. Boiling point 56℃/26.6Pa, 80～81℃/66.7Pa, 102℃/266.7Pa, relative density 1.1987(20℃), refractive index n20D1.4981, easily soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, acetic acid and other organic solvents; slightly soluble in water (1.2%). Easily decomposed by heating (130~140℃) or in contact with iron and alkaline substances, strongly corrosive, combustible.

Uses

Ethylicin can be used for quick rooting powder special for figs.
