Poly(amide-imide) is the condensation polymer of 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic anhydride and various aromatic diamines and has the general structure:
It is characterized by high strength and good impact resistance, and retains its physical properties at temperatures up to 260C. Its radiation (gamma) resistance is good.
