Chemical Properties
dark green to black powder
Uses
Naphthol Green B (CAS# 19381-50-1) is an organometallic dye which persists in wastewater as a pollutant. Various methods for the removal of Naphthol Green B, including hydrogen peroxide treatments, and the more complex use of magnetic halloysite-iron oxide nanocomposite. Dyes and metabolites, Environmental Testing
Definition
ChEBI: An organic sodium salt composed of iron(3+), sodium and 5-(oxidoimino)-6-oxo-5,6-dihydronaphthalene-2-sulfonate ions in a 1:1:3 ratio. Used to stain collagen and animal tissue.
Preparation
6-Hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid on nitrosation, and transformed to iron sodium salt.
Properties and Applications
Yellow green. Green powder, to sunlight (infrared light) has excellent absorption and excellent light fastness, in a saturated salt solution in a good solubility and stability. Often in the water as yellow green. Case of concentrated sulfuric acid was yellow brown, diluted yellow. Its aqueous sodium hydroxide as blue green. Mainly used in solar salt industry and wool, silk and nylon fabric dyeing and printing, can also be used for leather dyeing.
