Example 95: General procedure for the preparation of 2-amino-N-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)acetamide hydrochloride (C350) To a stirred solution of tert-butyl (2-oxo-2-((2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)amino)ethylcarbamate (C362; 3 g, 15.6 mmol) in dioxane (20 mL) was added slowly and dropwise to a solution of dioxane (23 mL, 93.8 mmol) in 4 M HCl at 0°C. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 10 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by concentration under reduced pressure. The resulting title compound was an off-white solid (2.4 g) and could be used in subsequent steps without further purification. The product was characterized by 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 9.17-7.13 (m, 1H), 8.21 (br s, 3H), 4.07-3.95 (m, 2H), 3.67-3.64 (m, 2H).
