White crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste, soluble in water, aqueous solution has an acidic reaction, very slightly soluble in one alcohol, insoluble in ether. mp 224°C, isoelectric point 10.76, [α]20D+20.4°-22.4° (C=3 g/ml, 1mol/L HCl) arginine is a semiessential amino acid, which can promote the production and excretion of urea, correct ammonia poisoning, and lift the hepatic coma. In nature, it is widely found in various proteins, such as pig's hair, hoof nails, blood meal, etc., made into hydrochloride.

Uses

L-Arginine hydrochloride is used in the treatment of cardiac and circulatory disorders. It is a precursor of nitric oxide synthesis and induces vasodilation in the body, which relaxes blood vessels. It is also used to treat angina pectoris and other cardiovascular problems. It is an important intermediate in the urea cycle and is involved in the detoxification of nitrogen waste.
