Chemical Properties

Insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water and ethanol. Ficus microcarpa leaves are derived from the leaves of the fig tree (Ficus microcarpa Lf), a plant of the Moraceae family.

Uses

Isovitexin is known as a flavones, a class of flavonoids. Isovitexin have been studied for their antiradical activities in the process of metabolisms. Isovitexin have also been studied for beneficial effcts against atherosclerosis, osteoporosis and certain cancers.

It has a role as an EC 3.2.1.20 (alpha-glucosidase) inhibitor and a metabolite. It is a C-glycosyl compound and a trihydroxyflavone. It is functionally related to an apigenin. It is a conjugate acid of an isovitexin-7-olate.
