Applications

Combining carbazole electron donors with a high triplet energy and a pyridine electron acceptor with a high electron affinity, 2,6-bis(3-(carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine (26DCzPPy) is one of the most popular bipolar host materials used in organic light-emitting diodes.
Bipolar host materials are molecules composed of an electron-donating moiety capable of mediating hole injection and transportation, and an electron-withdrawing moiety capable of mediating electron injection and transportation.

Description

2,6-bis(3-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine, also named DCzPPy, is a bipolar host material. It has high triplet energy, carrier mobilities, and deep highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) level . The host system was prepared by mixing the hole-transport-type host 4,4,4-tris(N-carbazolyl)triphenylamine with the electron-transport-type host 2,6-bis(3-(carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine to prepare the host system, which could not only improve CRI but also improve device efficiency[1-2].

Uses

2,6-Bis(3-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine is a chemical component of organic light-emitting diodes.
