Tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)-21H,23H-porphine cobalt(II) is an organometallic complex used as an oxidation catalyst in a variety of synthetic reactions such as the selective oxidation of amines.

Uses

Starting material in the synthesis of cobalt nitrosyl porphyrins for use in the study of the binding and activation of nitric oxide.

General Description

Arsenite Ionophore I (5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrinatocobalt (TMOPP-Co)) can be synthesized by boiling a mixture of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin (TMOPP) and cobalt acetate in glacial acetic acid. It has tendency towards attracting molybdate ions.
