GENAPOL(R) X-080 Usage And Synthesis
Characteristics
1. It has a special emulsifying effect on amino silicone oil and dimethyl silicone oil. Compared with the general silicone oil emulsifier, the amount of emulsifier is less, the emulsion is more stable, and it has strong penetrating power, which can penetrate into the fiber.
2. As metal processing aids, multi-functional detergents, decontamination solubilizers, household care cleaning agents, vehicles, public facilities, ultrasonic cleaning agents.
Uses
Polyethylene Glycol Monoisotridecyl Ether is a surfactant commonly used in microemulsions for drug delivery.
Uses
Genapol X-100 has been used in a study to assess how detergents affect inhibitor potencies against cyclo-oxygenase isoforms. It has also been used in a study to investigate the solubilisation of the membrane-bound D-alanyl-D-alanine carboxypeptidase of Bacillus coagulans.
Application
Genapol? X-080 was used as the mobile phase component in a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separation study of the selected herbicides using hydro-methanol-micellar liquid chromatography[1]. It was used for the preparation of irritant polymer samples for in vitro cycling studies[2]. In addition, it can be used as an effective solvent for microwave-assisted extraction of flavonoid alkaloids[3].
Definition
ChEBI: Polidocanol is a hydroxypolyether that is nonaethylene glycol in which one of the terminal hydroxy functions is substituted by a lauryl (dodecyl) group. It has a role as a nonionic surfactant, a hepatotoxic agent and a sclerotherapy agent. It is functionally related to a nonaethylene glycol.
