Preparation

The preparation of 4-*difluoro(3,4,5-trifluorophenoxy)-methyl]-3,5-difluoro-4'-propyl-1,1'-biphenyl is as follows:In a fluororesin container 3,5-Difluoro-4'-propylbiphenyl-4-thionocarboxylic acid 3,4,5-trifluorophenyl ester (1.65 g, 3.9 mmol), ethyl acetate (10 mL) was added, Further, iodine pentafluoride (IF 5) (0.86 g, 3.9 mmol),And triethylamine · trihydrofluoride salt (NEt3 - 3HF)(0.62 g, 3.9 mmol), and the mixture was stirred at 65 ° C. for 6 hours. After stopping the reaction with an alkali, the organic layer was distilled off under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography and recrystallization to obtainTo obtain 4- [difluoro- (3,4,5-trifluorophenoxy) -methyl] -3,5-difluoro-4'-propylbiphenyl (1.50 g, 3.5 mmol). The isolation yield was 90%, and the purity was 99.88%.
