Preparation

Bis(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)methanone and N-p-tolyl-m-phenetidine??and phosphorus oxychloride, and then converted to the sodium salt disulfonated.

Properties and Applications

red light blue and bright blue purple. Soluble in water and ethanol for violet. The strong sulfuric acid for brown, diluted into purple to violet. In adding sodium hydroxide solution will fade away.
