2,4-Dibromophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-DIBPA) is absorbed through leaves and non-woody stems, and translocated to various parts of the plant. It can control plants from more than 40 families, including monocots, dicots, annuals, and perennials, as well as shrubs. 2,4-DIBPA exhibits high activity against broadleaf weeds but low activity against grasses, particularly older grasses, ineffective against them.
