Uses

(Z)-2-(8-heptadecenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-1-ethanol is used particularly in the recovery of tar from water-gas process emulsions. It is useful in flotation processes involving siliceous minerals and the formation of emulsions and dispersions under acidic conditions.
