It is an intermediate in the synthesis of 4-Methyl-5-thiazoleethanol-13C3 (M330237) is used in the synthesis of novel HldE kinase inhibitors used against gram negative bacteria. Also used in the synthesis of potential antimalarial agents from bis-thiazolium analogues. Refer to M330235.
